§ALESIA I-This is a mockup of the battle of Alesia with you as the Gallic player. Caesar had trapped the Gallic leader Vercingetorix in the town of Alesia with 80,000 warriors. A relief force of 258,000 had arrived to break the seige. Caesar had constructed the most massive seige fortifications to date around Alesia, an 11 mile inner ring to beseige Alesia and a 14 mile outer ring to protect against the relief forces. To simulate the seige works, water barriers are used. Caesar's fortifications were an ancient version of the modern mine field. This coupled with seige engines caused many casulties. Can you break the seige and destroy Caesar? Remember Avaricum!!
